Relocation to a new city can be a big upheaval and should not be undertaken without first checking out the new area. When you are offered a new position and it means that you have to move, make sure you are fully prepared for the move. Even if the move is not over a great distance, without proper planning you could be setting yourself up for a disaster

• Before moving, you need to consider some points:
• The Local Culture of the area - Even within the same country, there may be local cultural diffences to consider
• Financial considerations - Make sure that your new salary allows you the same standard of living as you are used to.
• Other options - Are there other companies in the new area that you could work for?. In this ecomnomic climate, a job for life is not a given. Things change, so be prepared if the worse comes to the worse.
• Family matters - Udication is a vital consideration if you have children. What are the schools like?. What are the job prospects for your partner in the new area?
• Village, Town or Country? - How would you cope living in a city if you have always lived in smaler towns? And vice versa!
• Don't take relocation lightly. It's a massive step to take,so make sure you consider everything before making that commitment.
